TRADITIONAL LETTERPRESS PRINTING

Here at The Winklebag Press we use a couple of vintage presses to produce printed material with that unique letterpress quality.

All of our equipment is ‘previously enjoyed’, mostly rescued from retired printers who wanted their presses to be used rather than ending up in a skip. And much of our paper and ink comes from printers and suppliers who were closing down and were delighted to see their stock go to a good home - the ultimate in recycling.

We work for private and business clients producing everyday stationery, invitations and related items for special occasions. We can help with design and layout, choice of paper and stock, finishing and binding. We hold a nice selection of woodletter, metal type, borders and ornaments but are also very happy to make photopolymer or magnesium blocks from PDFs (yep, we’ve got a Mac and InDesign.)

Daunt Books in Marylebone stock the Berthold Wolpe merch, and if you're in Suffolk cards and bookmarks are available in the Lettering Arts Centre at Snape Maltings, the Rowe & Williams Gallery in Yoxford, or Darsham Nurseries in, er, Darsham. They're all well worth a visit anyway.
